About Our Venue
Sydney Olympic Park – Congress venue with a difference!
Sydney Olympic Park, though only 20 minutes from the CBD, will provide ISCAR2014 delegates a unique environment for the Congress. Complementing the Congress meeting facilities, the precinct offers delegates a number of activities to enjoy outside of the sessions.
The parklands at Sydney Olympic Park provide 430 hectares of open space, recreation areas, wetlands and waterways and are located in the geographic heart of the growing metropolitan Sydney. One of Australia’s largest urban parklands, it is a diverse and special place where protected remnant woodlands, rare saltmarshes, waterbird refuge and mangroves stand alongside places of heritage significance to create a unique parkland setting.
Arts and Culture at Sydney Olympic Park, the precinct is fast becoming the focal point of a new and exciting style of artistic expression for Sydney, and a place where established and emerging artists and communities work together, generating a lively and vibrant character to delight, engage and involve visitors, workers and residents.
Programs currently on offer include:
- a year-round exhibition program at the Armory Gallery including ARTEXPRESS and major contemporary art exhibitions
- Australia’s largest site-specific permanent public art collection in a single precinct
- temporary public art ‘interventions’ that respond to and enhance the Park’s public domain
- Spring and Autumn Armory Wharf riverside concert series
Restaurant choices at the Park will not disappoint with a number of options from light meals to fine dining. The onsite hotels and the precincts retails strip provide delegates with lots to choose from.
