Developmental Work Research Methodology and the Change Laboratory Method. 21-25 November 10.00-16.30
Lector: Jakko Virkkunen, Professor Emeritus, Center for Research on Activity, Development, and Learning (CRADLE), Institute of Behavioral Sciences, University of Helsinki, Finland.
The course is devoted to theoretical issues, methodology and practical methods of research on collective activity, based on ideas of culturalhistorical approach of Vygotsky, activity theory of Leontiev and developmental education of Davydov.
Professor Jakko Virkkunen and his colleagues from Center for Research on Activity, Development and Learning (CRADLE, University of Helsinki) headed by Yrjö Engeström, develop methodology of analysis of complicated systems of collaborative activity and practical techniques for helping to their development. Methods designed by CRADLE, particularly Change Laboratory Method, are implemented  in practice of various companies and organizations such as NOKIA, ITELLA Logistics, banking, educational, health, public transport, social work and more other spheres.
The course includes lectures and interactive practical work (such as reading group, discussion, text presentation, case study) in English.
There are 10 positions available for MSUPE staff and 10 positions for PhD and MA students.
