Veresov N.N.September 26 and 27: the cultural-historical psychology department of MSUPE presents a course of lectures by professor N.N. Veresov entitled “The problem of development in cultural-historical psychology”.
N.N. Veresov – professor, doctor of psychology (Russia/Finland).
This course discloses the problem of psychic development as it is addressed in cultural-historical concept of L.S. Vygotsky. The problem of development is regarded both in terms of the subject of cultural-historical psychology and in terms of it’s method (the experimental-genetic method).

Please note that professor arrives from Finland to teach this course. Lectures will be given in an intensive mode, two days in a row. Please show your understanding and plan your time accordingly.

Topic 1. Cultural-historical theory of the origin and development of the higher mental functions: general characteristics

Topic 2. Conceptual scheme and main principals of cultural-historical psychology

Topic 3. General genetic law of cultural development of higher mental functions in the theory of L.S. Vygotsky.

Lectures are mandatory for PhD students of 2nd year of Educational Psychology faculty (as of 2011-2012).
